Fiji Run across Virginia
It all started when...
The Rho Alpha and Omicron Chapters of Phi Gamma Delta launched the FIJI Run Across Virginia in the fall of 2003 with a vision of creating an event bigger than ourselves. With over 500,000 cancer deaths occurring in the United States every year, the need for continued emphasis on related research is clear. It is our hope that the run helps move the V Foundation closer to fulfilling legendary college basketball coach Jim Valvano's dream of finding a cure for cancer. As a brotherhood, this event combines two of our greatest passions: sport and charity. Each year, we strive to improve the event and, consequently, the FIJI Run Across Virginia has evolved into meaningful tradition that extends beyond our chapters to the surrounding community as well. In its history, we have raised almost $600,000 for cancer research and are dedicated to seeing that number grow. The partnerships that we have made with companies, individuals, and brothers of Phi Gamma Delta at UVA over the years are amazing and we look forward to forging new relationships in the future. Thank you for supporting our cause. We hope to make this year's run the best yet!
As a chapter, we would like thank everyone who helped to make the 15th Annual FIJI Run Across Virginia a success. With the help of the Omicron Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta at the University of Virginia, FIJI Run Across Virginia raised nearly $60,000 over the past two years!
