We participate in many philanthropic events within the Virginia Tech community, as well as host two of our own. Some of the philanthropies we participate in on campus include: Alpha Chi Omega’s Mock Rock, Delta Gamma’s Anchorsplash, Tri Delta’s DHOP, Alpha Phi’s Keep the Beat Week, Kappa Delta’s Fall Fest, and Zeta Tau Alpha’s Crown Classic.
In 2021, we won Kappa Delta’s Fall Fest as we took home first place in tug of war and raised over $2,000 to help prevent child abuse in America. Earlier this semester we finished second in Tri Delta’s DHOP benefiting St. Jude’s Children’s Research.
In 2015, we won Delta Gamma's Anchor Slam philanthropy and finished second in Kappa Delta's Fall Fest, benefiting Richmond Children's Hospital
In 2014, our chapter tied for first in DG’s Anchorsplash thanks to an awesome vocal performance by freshman Tom Brady and a smashing drum solo from sophomore Ryan Cunningham. DG’s philanthropy supports Service for Sight, which aims to help those with limited or no sight.
In 2012, we took home the trophy for Kappa Delta’s 5KD Rock The Run, which helps prevent child abuse in America.
Diamond Bowl
In addition to the FIJI Run Across Virginia, we coordinate our annual on-campus Diamond Bowl Philanthropy event each fall. Over the course of three days, sororities compete in various events while raising money for the V Foundation. On the final day, a flag football tournament helps determine the winner. The 2018 Diamond Bowl raised over $27,000, which went to support the FIJI Run Across Virginia.
